Snack Attack

This is the longest I have gone without a cigarette in a LONG time. I know it has only been 2 days but that is a major accomplishment for me. The thing is, I have become the ultimate Snackster! I am eating carrots, Cheetos, celery, Triscuits, gum, mints, peanuts, toast, popsicles, and pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I think Master P is getting mad since we are talking a lot these days (extra bolusing).

I have found a few things interesting living La Vida Smokeless.

• My feet don’t tingle and hurt as much.
• I can smell fabric softner – Downey smells yummy.
• EVERYTHING tastes yummy (not Downey).
• My Car still smells new.
• I get a lot more work done each day.

Every time I eat a snack, the little George dressed in Red on my left shoulder says, “You never ate this much smoking! Maybe you should lose some more weight and then try quitting.”

But then, little George on the right (who is always right) dressed in white says, “You can always lose weight but you cannot grow back toes.”

So true little G, so true.

You rock man!

Funny how those two guys on your shoulder go at it sometimes isn't it!

Take it one step at a time. Get rid of the smoking, then re-evaluate and go from there.

Progress, not perfection. No need to tackle the whole thing at the same time.

Keep it up man!

George,
Is that picture taken at the "all you can eat" Chinese buffet that I used to frequent? I'm starving!

I always say - first things first - and vote for the stopping smoking. Two whole days can be the foundation for two more!

You are off to a good start.

You're doing great George! Keep at it and pretty soon you'll have developed a new habit.

Snacking is better tahn smoking.

Congrats on going so long, and your pic is making me hungry.

My MIL was a confirmed smoker and wound up quitting.

Sucking on red hots helped curb her cravings for both food and cigs.

Good luck...I'm rooting for you!!

Way to go!
Keep it up. I love the notion of having little versions of me dressed in red and white on my shoulders.

Keep going, George! You're attacking those anti-health habits on more than one front, so it makes the war a little more complicated, but you're still winning. Health is the cumulative total of all those little daily decisions, and you're on the right track. I'm loving that you're seeing some changes already. Isn't it nice to smell those good things?

Good for you!

Just wait, eventually you'll become one of those annoying ex-smokers who now complain loudly about people puffing away in doorways and on the street. Not that I know anyone like that. No, not me. *whistles non-chalantly*
